How do you eat a Jellyfish?

We started our unit on the Ocean by water coloring seahorses. The kids LOVE paint--in any form. What was amazing to me as a teacher, was how well they are staying in the lines after all these months. The artwork has more form and identifiable structure! That means fine motor skills are growing leaps and bounds. They were proud of their creations and eager to show them off.

Thanks to creative moms, we always have the best snacks to go along with our themes. Today we enjoyed "jelly fish". You make them by running hard spaghetti noodles through hot dogs and then boiling them. The kids LOVED eating them. It was a total "hands-on" experience with all their little necks cranked back as they dangled the noodles into their mouths. What a fabulously fun day learning about sea creatures and their beautiful colors.
