February is Dental Awareness month. And what better field trip for preschoolers, than a trip to a dental office. After we had our fill of pizza and rootbeer at Tomato Street, we walked a few doors down to Hero Dental. We had an appointment to tour the facility and get a few pointers on how to take care of our teeth.
Our preschoolers love the spotlight. Everyone got a turn brushing the ginormous set of teeth on the counter. Each got to demonstrate how well they can brush the back and side teeth. A ride in the chair was the highlight for a few of them.
Each of the kids got to take home a bag full of dental treats--a new toothbrush, floss, fluoride tablets, some coloring pages, and more....
Even though it was a busy preschool day outside of the classroom, we had a great time and learned a lot on our visits in the community.
